GMPHN Celebration of Learning & Development Event in Wigan
GMPHN proudly hosted its first-ever Celebration of Learning and Development Event, bringing together public health colleagues from across Greater Manchester for a day of inspiration, learning and connection.
We began the morning with a series of keynote presentations from Helen Gollins, Chair of GMPHN and Director of Public Health for Trafford, and Chris Brookes, former Chief Medical Officer for the Northern Care Alliance and Chairman of Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club. The keynote session was followed by a panel discussion led by Rachael Musgrave, GMPHN Lead for Workforce Development and Director of Public Health for Wigan, featuring prominent leaders from across Greater Manchester who shared their insights on leadership, workforce development and the future of public health.
Throughout the morning, colleagues had the opportunity to take part in a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions, exploring a variety of topics and development opportunities relevant to their roles and career aspirations.
Following lunch, attendees joined peer networking sessions, providing valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues from different organisations and learn more about programmes of work taking place across the region.
We concluded the event with the inaugural GMPHN Workforce Awards. The awards showcased the outstanding contributions, innovation and dedication of colleagues working across Greater Manchester, highlighting the incredible impact being made every day to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate achievements, share learning and strengthen our public health network, and we look forward to building on its success in the years ahead.
